Directions to the campus of George Washington University
TFEC2025 conference will be held at the University Student Center on the campus of George Washington University. The address is 800 21th St NW Washington, D.C. 20052.
The University Student Center is the main hub of the George Washington University's Foggy Bottom campus. From study rooms to meeting spaces, large ballrooms and theaters, the University Student Center offers a variety of spaces for students to study, work, and socialize.
Parking Information
Parking Services maintains the garages and lots at the Foggy Bottom, Mount Vernon, and Virginia Science and Technology campuses.
Currently, we have 24 garages and lots on the Foggy Bottom campus, one main garage on the Mount Vernon campus, and a main lot at each of our Virginia Science and Technology Campus buildings.

Transportations
All campus locations have a physical address that can conveniently guide you via any GPS enabled device. We recommend that you utilize this address when navigating to find the most favorable route from your location
It is possible to get to College Park via public transportation from the airports although it does involve several changes along the way.
From Reagan National Airport (DCA)
- DCA to Metro Station: After arriving at Reagan National Airport, follow the signs to the Metrorail station located in the airport. There is a dedicated walkway connecting the airport terminals to the station.
- Purchase a SmarTrip Card: If you don't already have one, purchase a SmarTrip card from the vending machines at the Metro station. You will need this card for fare payment.
- Take the Yellow Line: Board the Yellow Line train heading toward Greenbelt.
- Transfer at L’Enfant Plaza: Travel to the L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station. This is a direct ride of about 10-15 minutes. At L’Enfant Plaza, transfer to the Blue or Orange Line.
- Take the Blue/Orange Line: If you're taking the Orange Line, board a train heading toward New Carrollton. If you're taking the Blue Line, head toward Largo Town Center.
- Get off at Foggy Bottom-GWU: Alight at the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro Station, which is just a few stops away.
- Walk to University Student Center: After exiting the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro Station, use the 23rd Street exit. Walk towards the campus, and the University Student Center should be within a short walking distance (about 5-10 minutes).
Make sure to check the Metro's schedule and confirm train times, as they can vary based on the day and time.
From BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)
- Take the MARC Train or Amtrak from BWI to Washington, D.C.:
- At BWI, you can take the BWI RailLink shuttle to the BWI Marshall Rail Station. The shuttle runs every 10-15 minutes and is free.
- Once at the rail station, you can board a MARC Train (Penn Line) or an Amtrak train heading to Washington, D.C.
- The train ride typically takes about 30-40 minutes.
- Arrive at Union Station in D.C.:
- After your train ride, you will arrive at Union Station, which is a major transportation hub.
- Transfer to the Metro:
- From Union Station, follow the signs to the Washington Metro (the subway system).
- Take the Red Line (towards Glenmont).
- Travel to Foggy Bottom-GWU Station:
- Ride the Red Line a few stops to Foggy Bottom-GWU Station. This station is closest to George Washington University.
- The trip on the Metro should take about 10-15 minutes.
- Walk to the University Student Center:
- Once you get off at Foggy Bottom-GWU Station, take the exit for 23rd Street.
- Walk a few blocks to reach the University Student Center, located at 800 21st Street NW.

From Dulles International Airport (IAD)
- Dulles Airport to Wiehle-Reston East Station:
- Take the Silver Line Express Bus from Dulles International Airport to the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station. The bus service operates frequently, and the ride typically takes about 15-20 minutes.
- Wiehle-Reston East to GWU:
- At the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station, board the Silver Line (toward Largo Town Center).
- Ride the Silver Line to the McPherson Square Metro Station. This will take approximately 30-40 minutes.
- Walk to the University Student Center:
- From the McPherson Square Metro Station, it’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the University Student Center located at 800 21st St NW.
- Head southwest on 14th St NW toward I St NW, then turn left onto I St NW, continue onto 21st St NW, and you will reach the university campus.
In total, the journey could take around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on wait times for the bus and the metro. Make sure to check the local schedules for the most current information and any potential service changes.
