Abstract Submission

Authors have the options to submit their research work as:

  • presentation only (abstract submission only)
  • extended abstract (2-4 pages)
  • full-length paper (5-10 pages)

For all three options, authors are required to first submit a short abstract (250 words) online through the ASTFE submission web site. The submitted abstracts will be reviewed by conference Chairs. Once an abstract has been accepted, the full-length manuscript will be requested by the due date, according to the specified format below.

The full-length papers and extended abstracts are peer-reviewed and if accepted, will be distributed in digital form, and available through ASTFE Digital Library. Please note, if a full-length paper or extended abstract is not presented at the Conference, the paper will not be published in the ASTFE Digital Library, therefore will not be cited as a published paper. Please also note that the presenting author must register for the conference by the specified date.

The copyright transfer form is requested on the acceptance of the full-length manuscript and extended abstract prior to submittal of the final manuscripts to ASTFE conference. The permission to release the copyright by ASTFE / Begell House Inc. will be given without any fees if the author would like to publish his conference full-length or extended abstract papers anywhere else after the conference.

The authors may submit their work for publication to a journal of their choice, including Begell House journals. The conference full papers should have significant changes made before submitting to any journals. Journals will accept the material from your conference paper for review by their editors. The same conference full paper cannot be submitted to any journals publication. Authors may share their original manuscripts with public but must include a citation and a link to the published paper (conference paper or journal paper). ASTFE also plans to have special issues in Begell House journals focusing on specific topics.

The extended abstracts and full papers have identical format and should be prepared in accordance with the template provided in the Instructions to Authors given below. The extended abstracts should be 2-4 pages, typed single spaced, using a minimum font size of 11. Full papers should be 5-10 pages in this format. The page limits include the figures and references pages. The papers must be uploaded in pdf format.

We are excited to have a conference-wide Students Poster Session for the student authors who wish to present their research as posters. The student authors who plan to present their work in the Poster Session must select "Student Poster Session" under Subject Areas and select Poster as the Article Type when submitting their abstracts.

Please note that the authors must choose either a Poster or an Oral presentation (full paper/Extended abstract/ presentation only) for each abstract. Only one presentation is allowed using the same data/abstract. If an author intend to present both a poster and an oral presentation, the content of the material discussed must be different for each presentation.
