If you are taking a cab from the airport:
Simply let the driver know that you are heading for the Roosevelt Hotel, located on the corner of East 45th Street and Madison Avenue. You will see the hotel as you exit the cab.
From LaGuardia Airport, NY: Take a yellow taxi; it'll be about $30-$35 plus a tip and a toll. You can avoid the toll by telling the driver to take the (free) 59th St. Bridge though if traffic is heavy, it'll cost about the same whether you take the bridge or the tunnel.
From John F. Kennedy Airport, NY: can also take a yellow taxi; it’ll be about $50-$60 plus a tip and a toll.

Find your car-rental company and retrieve your car. Depending on which airport you are flying in to, directions differ somewhat. Please see options below.
Directions from LaGuardia Airport, NY:
- Get on Grand Central Pkwy (0.6 mi)
- Take Brooklyn Queens Expy E, I-278 W and I-495 W to E 37th St in Manhattan. Exit from I-495 W (7.5 mi)

The Roosevelt Hotel is located very close to Grand Central Station. Depending on which airport you are flying in to, directions differ somewhat. Please see options below.
Options from LaGuardia Airport, NY:
- Find the NYC Airporter, a bus departing roughly every 30 minutes from LaGuardia. It goes to Port Authority Bus Terminal, Grand Central Station and Penn Station. Fare is $13. Purchase tickets online at www.NYCAirporter.com. For more information, call (718) 777-5111.
- Find the Q70 Limited or Q47 bus, departing every 30 minutes (or more frequently) from LaGuardia. Fair is $2.75 (see “MetroCard” below for information about payment options). Take either bus to the station “Roosevelt Avenue/74th Street”, where the bus connects to the New York City subway. Here switch to subway line 7 and ride it to the station “Grand Central-42 Street/Lexington Avenue.” Exit the station and walk the short distance to the Roosevelt Hotel on 45th Street (see map above). Options from John F. Kennedy International Airport, NY:
- Find the AirTrain, which makes frequent stops all around the airport. Fare is $5 (not including fare for connecting subway, see “Metrocard” below). Take the train to the station “Jamaica Station”, and switch to the subway line E towards Manhattan. Take the E-line to the station “42 Street-Port Authority bus terminal/8 Avenue.” Here switch to the subway line 7 and ride it to the station “Grand Central-42 Street/Lexington Avenue.” Exit the station and walk the short distance to the Roosevelt Hotel on 45th Street (see map above).
- Before you travel visit the following website to purchase tickets to the JFK Airport Shuttle: http://www.nyairportservice.com/page.php?id=48. When you arrive at the airport, simply proceed to the Ground Transportation Desk in your arriving terminal and present the voucher you printed from this website. The JFK Airport shuttle will then take you directly to Grand Central Station. Fare is $15, one-way. Walk the short distance to the Roosevelt Hotel on 45th Street (see map above).
Options from Newark Liberty International Airport, NJ:
- Find the AirTrain, which makes frequent stops all around the airport. Fare is $5.50 (not including fare for connecting Amtrak or subway, see “Metrocard” below). Take the AirTrain to the station “Newark Liberty Airport Station”, and switch there to the NJ Transit line going towards Manhattan (Fares vary depending on destination, but tickets can be purchased at the station). Exit the NJ Transit at the station “New York Penn Station”, and switch to subway line 1, 2, or 3, either one will take you to the station “Times Square-42 Street/7 Avenue-Broadway” (subway fare is $2.75, see “Metrocard” below). Here exit and switch to the subway line 7 and ride it to the station “Grand Central-42 Street/Lexington Avenue.” Exit the station and walk the short distance to the Roosevelt Hotel on 45th Street (see map above).
- Find the Newark Liberty Airport Express, shuttles leave every 15-30 minutes from Newark. Fare is $16, and it will take you directly to Grand Central Station. Walk the short distance to the Roosevelt Hotel on 45th Street (see map above).
Metrocard:
If you use MetroCard, a free transfer is automatically encoded onto your card, which can be used to transfer to the subway, or between buses. If you pay with coins, ask the bus operator for a free transfer to use on another bus. (If you pay with coins on the bus there is no free transfer to the subway). Transfers are good for two hours from the time you pay your fare. You can buy a MetroCard that gives you unlimited rides (that includes all free transfers). Or, you can buy a MetroCard with a specific number of rides that automatically gives you one free transfer every time you pay a fare. You can purchase MetroCard at MetroCard Vending Machines inside Terminals B, C, and D in LaGuardia Airport or at any NYC subway station. A $1 new card fee will apply to new MetroCard purchases from the vending machines. New card fee does not apply to MetroCard refills and MetroCards bought from authorized merchants.
